We are happy that for the first time in many years our extended family is gathering to celebrate Christmas. This will be a family reunion complete with old photos, food, and remembering Christmas's past. While our children and the children of my siblings were growing up the family would congregate in our farm house for a day of togetherness. There would be tons of home made goodies and the coffee flowed.
The children were turned loose in the basement to run and play; truely I don't remember any bickering or fighting that needed to be dealt with.
Perhaps my memories are selective but they are all good. Yesterday sister Verla volunteered to come over and help with my preparations. We didn't accomplish as much as we did long ago but our efforts were satisfying and we had good conversation and some laughs too.
Christmas is all about love. families are for loving. give of self. that is the best gift after all.
