My niece Karen and I have been waiting for her to have a day off from work and for dry weather. Well today we had both so headed for the farm fields in search of rocks. That's right rocks. We both love rocks and after telling Karen about wonderful outings with my grandsons collecting rocks on the farm we decided to go for it.
Just being out in the open field away from people, noise and duties is so therapeudic. Add the pleasure of seeing a rock peeping out of the soil and you have the makings of a great day. It was very windy and a bucket of rocks gets weighty but we were not detered.
When we had a generous number of rocks in varied sizes and colors we headed for the creek to explore a little. It is as beautiful and peaceful as I remember when our children played there.
AS I have said before, "the best things in life are still free".
