Today our church observed pastor appreciation day with a special worship service, BIG luncheon and a talent show honoring the pastor's southern roots. It was really fun. I was so amazed at the abilities some of the people have kept well hidden. Two little tots sang like pros and a seven-year-old boy played the violin with skill. One of our usually dignified looking ladies donned a wig and a housedress and did an hilarious monologue. One soloist is 79 years old -I was challenged since I gave up solos years ago.Husband John put together his best southern gospel outfit and belted one out as well. (complete with his Elvis glasses from Graceland) His mascara whiskers don't show up in the picture. The crowd was entertained and begging for more. What a lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon. Food, fellowship, fun. I say it a lot-the best things are still free.
