Saying goodbye

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to a dear friend. The woman made a difference in my life and I will miss her a lot. The life cycle. What a mystery. This week I was introduced to an infant only days old and gave a farewell to a 78 year old friend. Once I was newborn but now I am old. The transition from new to old seems like a short span of time. My children are almost senior citizens ; how can it be. I embrace every part of my life - young, middle, old. And to think when this cycle is complete I will begin one that never ends and be reunited with that friend who has gone before me. Oh the mystery of it all.

Yesterday I read from the Bible, "the fool has said in his heart there is no God." Not much to look forward to in that thought. As for me "I know whom I have believed and am persuaded."
