friends past

Well I had to do it again today. Say goodbye to a friend that is. Carolyn and I went way back to our kids' grade school days - mother's club, Bible study, Tupperware parties and cookouts. I remember my mom being sad because her friends were leaving her one by one. Today I understand her better. Carolyn was ill and had dementia so for her it is a great day. She had put her trust in Jesus a long time ago and she knew something better awaited her. For the rest of us we feel the loss but know our turn is coming. This is the third funeral in seven weeks. Enough already.
