I know I just told you to put me on hold and here I am back again. Well it seemed like a good idea for me and my hubby to get away from the house this afternoon so we took a drive out to one of the corn fields where the harvest has begun. We may have left the farm but the farm has not left us. It was a beautiful summer day and being in the midst of the corn and machinery was like medicine for us. Can't wait to go again.
We took a drive down several country roads and just enjoyed the peaceful scenery. One stop was at an old bridge, now closed to traffic, that we both remembered crossing in our younger days. The banks of the Mackinaw River invited us to stay awhile. Next time we may take some chairs, books and snacks and just spend the day.
