ME day

This was supposed to be a travel day, again, but wasn't so I decided to go out early for coffee and then run some errands. What started out to be a routine day became a ME day. Not a holiday, mini-vacation, birthday but a ME day. The truth is I didn't want to go back home and face the half finished floor stripping job, laundry or dirty windows I promise to do before cold weather. Suddenly I had inspiration. I keep a running list of things that are needed about the house and for personal use, like new jeans. Stuff that gets put off when I have the longer more urgent list to deal with like toilet paper etc. Why not do the someday list. So to make this boring blog even more boring I will tell you what I did. After coffee I went to WalMart for a few things, then ate a McGriddle and had more coffee. Next to Big Lots. I have not been in that store for weeks and the inventory has changed. For two, yes two, hours I walked up and down every aisle looking and selecting things for us and others. (I often buy things that I think someone else would like, more fun than shopping for me).
Next I went to Bergners. After selecting one item, a lightweight sweater to wear with my brown pantsuit, I explained to the clerk that I was just out shopping around for the day and she said, "Oh, I call that a me day." Every time I started to feel guilty, I reminded myself that it is a ME day and it is ok.
I was able to cross off a lot of things from my mental list and hit some serious sales (is there any other way to shop?) For those of you who read this far, thank you now I will stop. Just let it be known that I had lunch out also and didn't get home until 4:30. Tomorrow I am back on my hands and knees to remore more old floorwax and to start turning that quilt I bought today into a curtain for the sliders. Be assured that there are more ME days in my future. PS Sears has $20 sweatpants for $7.99 had to tell it :}
