When Hans and I started dating in 1955 he was driving a '55 chevy - pink and gray. Last night we went looking for one on ebay. We didn't find the exact one but found several '55s that had been restored. Classy and pricey. We kept that car until 1960 when we traded it for a bare-bones navy chevy . No class but practical and cheap. I thought restored meant just like the original. Not necessarily. The ones online had some parts from other cars and updated interiors. However, they were fun to look at and I am sure a pleasure to own. No need for us to purchase at this stage of life; we are content to visit the car shows and just remember. Afterthought: A good thing child seats were not required. Where would we have put 4? :} Actually we moved up to a small station wagon by the time we were a family of six. We just threw a mattress in the back for the children, passed out the toys and treats and traveled down the road. Yes those were good days.
I well remember the pink and gray of 1955. That was the car color of the year, also the year that I got married. It is nice to stroll down memory lane. YES! those were good days.
