The preparations begin

Last Saturday I ventured out into a downpour to help decorate the church for Christmas.   It was worth getting wet for.    The few of us that showed up had a lot of fun and laughs pretending to be decorators.   Actually when we were finished it looked pretty good.   Colored lights, poinsettias, ribbon, shiny balls.   How hard can it be.    Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera from the car and refused to get wet again retrieving it.
I also stopped in on a cookie baking event that was in full swing.   Again laughter and fun.     When I was young and had children to spoil with the goodies I enjoyed making mounds of candy and cookies but today those mounds just end up on my hips.   So I just look and walk away.      However I am bound to have a few binge days before all the celebrating is over.    You only live once:}
