Watching the birds feed gives me much pleasure. The variety, color and even attutide of the different species is both educational and entertaining. Today the feeder had taken on such a delightful adornment with the snow frosting that I didn't want to disturb it. The birds were treated to a winter picnic from a paper plate on the back porch. We counted 10 cardinals at one time vieing for the seed and bread crumbs. This view shows 3 cardinals and a Junco. Since both John and I are suffering from coughs we opted to stay in out of the weather and these delightful little creatures provided us with a nice diversion from the commercial saturated tv offerings. The best things are still free.
