HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!

So often we look at the little that we have and decide that it isn't enough to share. How could my little knowlege or my little faith or gift be worth anything, we reason. We think that if we had more time, energy, money or talent we would gladly give it to the Lord. But, as it is, I just don't have much to offer.

The Bible gives the account of a boy who had two cold, little fish and five pieces of bread - just enough for his own meal. It wasn't a terrific lunch in my opinion but adequate for a hungry boy. When the boy saw that the disciples were looking for food to feed the crowd, it would have been logical for him to hide the lunch and then eat it privately. After all what could such a bit of food do in such a situation.

You know the story. The boy gave the little that he had and Jesus blessed it. Now anything that is blessed of the Lord is destined for success. The little lunch was multiplied by the power of the Holy Spirit.. The result of this tiny offering was that a multitude was fed, the crowds praised Jesus and wanted to make Him their king.

Can you imagine the joy and wonder that the boy must have experienced when he realized all that his little lunch had accomplished? In this new year may we take the little that we have, give it to Jesus, expecting nothing in return and watch Him bless it. Even as the boy received his lunch back again, so will Jesus multiply back to us all that we offer to Him.
