Today I stuffed 14 doz. plastic eggs with chocolate candy. Needless to say many sweets made it into my mouth leaving me with a sick feeling in my stomach and a nagging conscience. So in order to stop the overactive guilt feelings I took a walk Walking is not a hardship for me; I really do enjoy it. On this brief jaunt I spotted an oak tree with giant, brown ,withered leaves still in place. I had to stop and consider all that those leaves had indured during the harsh winter months - wind, rain, sleet, snow, ice and more wind. I am impressed. What an example of overcoming hardship. I waxed poetic on my return walk with these lines from my childhood. "Dont' worry if your jobs are small and your rewards are few. Remember that the mighty oak was once a nut like you." Starting tomorrow: longer walks and less junk food.
I too shall overcome!!!!!!
