This has been a great Friday. Today I lunched with a friend of old. We did some serious catching up on news, our views and plans for the future. After 2 hours of chatting and some eating we said our goodbyes and I headed for the Bergners store for some new shoes.

Tried on one pair and bought same. Then the serious stuff started. After selecting several garments not meant for a woman my age or shape, I headed for the fitting room. ( How long has it been since you saw yourself in one of those fitting room mirrors. ) This was not an event I will repeat for some time. No new clothes but that is ok; my old stuff will do just fine until I need a smaller size, which may not happen in this lifetime.

The real treat came when I found this really neat quilt in my current color scheme and it was marked 70 percent off. Well 70 off $195 is a great deal. BUT to make it even better the clerk said I could have another 20 percent off if I had a coupon. Of course I didn't. She then said I could bring in a piece of clothing to donate to Goodwill and get the coupon. So do I drive 10 miles round trip in Friday afternoon traffic or let it go? No way. My creative thinking kicked in and I simply slipped out of my shoes and dropped them into the used clothing bin. Wa La
I donned the new shoes and headed home with yet another shopping treasure.
