what is it?

The birds aren't the only ones enjoying the cherries, those on the ground that is. There must be a million flies in the grass under the tree. What to do? We have had issues with flies before, remember we are a farm family. So I trotted up the stairs to the attic and there it was - the amazing fly trap. Husband built these contraptions years ago in hopes of controlling the fly population around the barns.

The bucket in the bottom holds the bait, in this case some watermelon rind and squished cherries. The flys are attracted to the bait but the only way to it is a maze of screens with no exit. As you can see the trap is working.
