I am having a wonderful day. It started off, after my usual routine, with grocery shopping ( I am having friends in for brunch next Tues. and wanted to get a jump on the upcoming bad weather). Anyway, as I approached the store I noticed the bell ringer, a young man without hat ,scarf or gloves. Now I have been a bell ringer and you get very cold standing in one spot for a few hours. After dropping in my gift I decided that if the store has gloves I will buy the boy a pair. Well, no gloves, so I headed for the meat counter to choose a beef roast, pricey, and tears came to my eyes. I felt so incredibly blessed.
After talking to the clerk about the absence of Christmas music and cheery feeling in the store, I headed toward the exit and the bell ringer. I stopped in my tracks letting the cart roll away, and wrapped my scarf around his neck, pulled off my gloves but refrained from giving him a hug. Merry Christmas, isn't that what it is all about. This old lady had a spring in her step as she rushed that cart load of food to the car. That you Jesus for rescuing me from being a selfish old scrooge:}
Also, I am proud of myself for doing my Christmas Cards on line without help. A big step for me. Son David took the photo in our backyard...... not the one I am showing you today.
