This big guy appeared in our yard today. He circled the birdfeeder but wasn't looking for seeds. He pounced on an unsuspecting sparrow and after stomping on it a few times, few off into a tree. I don't begrudge him his dinner but it was kind of gross and I did feel sorry for the sparrow. We consulted the bird book and determined that the agressor is a goshawk. A first for our back yard feeding station.
